With just a few hours left, clubs in England, Spain, Germany and Italy are scrambling to finalize their rosters as the transfer window nears it’s close. Whether on loan or permanent move, players across Europe are switching clubs at the start of their respective seasons. While some clubs were forced to offload players in order to make the final roster size of 25, others like Arsenal and Tottenham are scrambling to find players who can turn their season around as both clubs sit at the bottom of the Premier League after 3 weeks of play.
Despite a lot of action thus far, the close of this transfer window has failed to produce a eye-opening signing. While rumors swirled about Kaka making his way to White Hart Lane, Tottenham instead added midfield depth by signing Scott Parker from relegated West Ham. Other notable names changing addresses include Owen Hargreaves who made the permanent switch from Manchester United to rivals City, Joe Cole going on loan to French side Lille and Tottenham’s David Bentley spending the coming season with West Ham. The biggest move in Spain & Italy sees Diego Forlan move to Inter Milan from Athletico Madrid.
