New Portugal & Holland ’12 Jerseys Launch 29-Feb

Get into gear for the European Championships 2012 tournament with brand new Portugal and Holland Away Kits. An in-depth preview of the construction, fit, styling and materials is courtesy of our buddies at Football Fashion:

The new Portugal away kit draws big inspiration from the country’s adventurous and exploration history. The white jersey features a large cross on the front, the same national symbol featured on the sails of Portuguese ships. The half red, half green cross is split diagonally at the center, representing the Armillary Sphere, a historic symbol also featured on the Portuguese flag.

The fabric from Nike on both jerseys is made with 96% recycled polyester with the shorts made with 100% recycled polyester. The low environmental impact complements the superior athletic performance players and fans have come to love from Nike.

The new Nike Holland Away Jersey 2012 features stylish elements that will be worn by Dutch striker Wesley Sneijder when the Flying Dutchmen take on the Three Lions at Wembley, Wednesday, February 29th.

The style of the Holland Away Jersey 12/13 is representative of the inherent style and authority of Dutch football. The sharp black signifies the strict authority and lethal approach of the Oranje. It features a striking orange panel on the right shoulder, contrasting the KNVB logo on the left chest.

The Dri-FIT technology is featured throughout, with laser-cut ventilation on the shirt, isolating cooling where athletes need it most. A double knit structure makes the polyester blend 20% stronger, while almost 25% lighter weight.
