Torres Finally Scores a Goal

Fernando Torres' first goal with ChelseaThe mountain of blue shirts piled on top of Fernando Torres summed the relief triggered by the Spaniard’s first goal for Chelsea.

After an excruciating 732-minute wait, El Niño managed to score in the 84th minute after coming on for Didier Drogba. Latching onto an Anelka ball, Torres broke into the box and turned to keep possession as the ball stuck in the water before drilling home with his left foot past keeper Robert Green.

All of a sudden the talk at Stamford Bridge has switched from Torres’ failings to ambitious predictions about when the striker will be back to his best. Could this be the start of Chelsea’s comeback?
