Ronaldo Discusses a Return to Manchester United

Cristiano RonaldoComing off his most successful season thus far with Real Madrid in which he scored 40 goals and won the Copa del Rey, Ronaldo has told Sky Sports News that he won’t rule out the possibility of returning to English soccer. The world’s most expensive player is in his third season at the Bernabéu after making his £80 million from Manchester.

While Ronaldo did express his admiration for the English Premier League and Manchester United, he also stated that he would happily sign a ten-year contract with Real Madrid. Speaking on the situation Ronaldo said, “I’ve said a few times that, if Madrid want, I can sign for ten years more until the finish of my career but nobody knows the future. I cannot lie to you and say I will stay here ten years, that I am not going to come back to Manchester. It is not fair on my part. Let’s see what future God has prepared for me.”

Although the Portuguese international has continued on his streak of impressive individual form while in Spain, his dreams of winning of La Liga & the UEFA Champions League with Madrid have so far been thwarted by arch rivals Barcelona. During his time at Manchester United, Ronaldo won three Premier League titles, the FA Cup and two League Cups as well as the Champions League and Club World Cup in six seasons with the Red Devils.
