AC Milan

AC Milan 2011/2012 Jersey

A combination of innovation and tradition, adidas have crafted a design reminiscent of the Rossoneri stripes from early twentieth century. Reverting to the thinner stripes, AC Milan’s 2011/2012 jersey features 21 stripes in total, 11 of which are black and 10 red. A bright white collar attracts attention to the 3 white stripes along the sleeves. The back of the collar bears the words “Associazione Calcio Milan” underneath the Italian flag with similar Italian flag references along the inset.

The new AC Milan home kit will make its debut when the Serie A leaders take on Cagliari on Saturday, May 14.

Arsenal

Arsenal 2011/2012 Jersey

Founded in 1886 as The Royal Arsenal, the North London club has left it’s mark in the soccer world for the last 125. To commemorate their place in history, Arsenal’s 2011/2012  home jersey features a bespoke crest highlighting their proud origins. A classic red block design and white sleeves, Arsenal’s new home jersey features ‘Arsenal’ on the back of the collar, while the back of the crest reads ‘Victoria Concordia Crescit’, (‘Victory Through Harmony’), Arsenal’s Latin motto.

The clubs celebratory crest design features 15 laurel leaves to the left side of the crest which represent the 6 pence pieces each of the 15 founding members paid to establish the club. The 15 oak leaves to the right of the crest acknowledge the founders who would meet in the local Royal Oak pub. Underneath the crest is one of the first recorded motto’s related to the armament and battle – ‘Forward’ – with the anniversary dates of 1886 and 2011 either side of the heart of the shirt.
