Dirty tackles and broken legs

It seems that everyday we find more players deliberately hurting others, leaving their opponents out for the season without so much as a warning.

Monday night in Germany saw Bochum win 1-0 in Union Berlin in a second tier encounter. But the victory was scarred by a horrific leg break to the visitors’ Matias Concha, who had his leg snapped by Macchambes Younga-Mouhani in a shocking incident.

Just after halftime, the pair challenged for a loose ball near the halfway line. Concha slid for the ball while Younga-Mouhani opted to stay on his feet, stepping over the ball and on top of Concha’s incoming leg. Sadly, Concha was left with a season-ending fractures of both the tibia and fibula while Younga-Mouhani isn’t even booked. It was reported that Bochum’s goalkeeping coach “unleashed a verbal smackdown” on Younga-Mouhani that required police intervention before boarding the bus back home.

We all hope for Concha’s speedy recovery.
