The Hype Around Gareth Bale

Welshman Gareth Bale has become the newest in-demand star for the January transfer window. With a particularly impressive season so far, he has scored six goals, including a hat trick in the first Champions League against Inter Milan. The second leg of the Champions League brought out yet another side of him, making a jest of Inter’s Maicon with his pace, power and precision, devastating the defense and leaving Inter without any answers.  Maicon – arguably the best right back in the world in present times – came second in half a dozen one-on-one battles on the left as Bale cruised his way through providing a brace of assists resulting into two goals for his team.  Spurs manager Harry Redknapp has marked it a night to remember at White Hart Lane as Tottenham Hotspurs splintered the Italian giants with scorecard reading 3-1 at the end of game’s play.

His demolition job of the Italian giants has attracted headlines in Italy as well as some of the top clubs in the UK. It is reported that Bale could cost in the region of £50 million, although Spurs boss insists he will play out his new four year contract.  But with Man City and Inter’s sights set on the 21 year old, new fans could soon be chanting “Hail Bale!
