Soccer fans, soccer cleat enthusiasts and especially USA soccer supporters, we have a treat for you. Soccer Fanatic has managed to get our hands on an EXCLUSIVE image of the brand new Nike “Don’t Tread On Me” Talaria cleats that will launch at the 2009 Surf College Cup in San Diego.
These cleats were created and produced due to the overwhelming response Nike received after USMNT attacker Clint Dempsey debuted his custom DTOM white Mercurial Vapor Superfly’s earlier this summer in the USA’s match versus Honduras at Soldier Field. The “Don’t Tread On Me” slogan and snake logo has been used by Nike as a Patriotic support campaign representing the spirit of the United States Men’s National soccer team. Believe it or not, in 2006, the DTOM campaign was accompanied by a hip-hop song performed by team member Clint Dempsey entitled “Don’t Tread”.
The new DTOM cleats will be Nike’s Talaria model. The awesome looking soccer cleats are primarily black and red, with a white Nike swoosh and red coiled snake symbol. The cleats will be released and made for sale at the Thanksgiving Surf College Cup youth soccer tournament in San Diego.
