San Diego, CA (September 6, 2011) – Lococo Sports, the leading soccer specialty retailer in California under the brand name Soccer Fanatic, and The GIVE N GO Project, a South Florida based nonprofit organization which donates soccer gear while conducting soccer clinics at orphanages and foster homes, recently teamed up to provide underprivileged children new soccer gear and organized training.
After accumulating a stockpile of unused soccer cleats, jerseys, balls and other soccer equipment over the past several years, Lococo Sports looked to donate the gear to a deserving soccer based charitable organization. With the goal of using soccer as a vehicle to build self-confidence and instill a sense of hope for abandoned children, the GIVE N GO project was selected as the recipient of Lococo Sports’ donation of over $100,000 worth of unused soccer apparel and equipment.
Shortly after the donation, The Give N Go project began distributing the gear at recent soccer clinics held for foster children at the Polinsky Children’s Center (San Diego) and Olive Crest (Santa Ana, CA). More of the organized clinics, for children without families, are being planned across the United States, as well as Honduras and Jamaica.
“We’ve been waiting for a few years now to find the perfect organization for this donation. My main concern has always been ensuring the merchandise would find its way into the right hands when donated. With The GIVE N GO Project, I am hopeful each and every item will go towards bringing joy to the lives of young children here in the United States and around the World” said John Lococo, President at Lococo Sports.
“This marked the first time a company has donated such a significant amount of product towards our project. With Lococo Sports’ donations, we will be able to provide hundreds, if not thousands of kids, brand new cleats, balls, uniforms and soccer gear” said Amber Tollefson, Founder of The GIVE N GO Project.
