Not a moment too soon, adidas is back with it’s own answer to Nike’s recent exclusive release of their premier speed boot (the Mercurial Vapor VIII CR): the new adidas adiZero F50 in leather and synthetic. A flourish of yellow for increased visibility on the pitch, the latest edition of the famous F50 collection were worn on the feet of Barcelona’s very own Lionel Messi this week in their Champion’s League match versus Celtic.
Not only is this update to the F50 a stylish one, the technologies embedded in the boot’s construction and engineering to guarantee even the best athletes in the world the best-in-class speed and agility. Plus all of the top-tier cleats from adidas now offer miCoach compatibility, meaning you can track nearly every aspect of your performance and upload statistics on average speed, top speed, distance covered and sprints to better understand your performance. Receive personalized feedback from the adidas miCoach website or simply compare your stats with friends.
The first thing most players will notice about the newest F50 release is the cleanliness of design. Instead of weaving a two-toned color scheme throughout the upper forefoot, adidas went with a heel-to-toe design for the new adiZero F50s. Needless to say, we love the high-speed looks and sheer powerful design elements. A revolutionary SPRINTSKIN single-layer synthetic upper delivers superior touch on the ball with reduced weight.
The synthetic upper also features SPRINTWEB, a unique encasement technology to keep your foot in control at every point of contact, both with the ground and the ball. Players will recognize the iconic TRAXION 2.0 outsole stud configuration, as adidas has brought this firm-ground traction technology to nearly every top performance firm ground cleat.
The tongue of the shoe wraps a higher percentage of the top of the foot for increased padding on the sweet spot. The tongue also features a bright green adidas three-stripe logo and adizero F50 decal. The same adidas striping as seen in the forefoot is mimicked around the heel with a sleek F50 graphic embedded at the base of the ankle. The outsole plate is all white for a sharp look, with yellow-tipped studs.
The new release comes in black, white and green zest, but with Messi and other top adidas athletes sporting the yellow model, soccerloco will carry the adult synthetic F50 as well as the Jr F50 in Vivid Yellow for $108. If you want to go leather, we recommend taking the jump to the Black/White with Green Zest colorway; $189. A sharp refined style on this new style of the F50 soccer cleats, opponents will never know what hit them.
